Project Browser Synchronisation
« on: April 30, 2012, 10:30:00 pm »
Is the project browser supposed to update in real time with information my colleagues are entering into the model?

The following scenarios seem to show it doesnt.

We have use cases that my colleague was editting. He changed the name of a diagram and I did not see the change in the PB. However if I open the diagram and / or view its properties, the change in name is apparrent.

My colleague added a new use case and referred to it in a diagram. I can open the diagram and see the reference and icon for the new use case, but its not in my project browser.

Not that is until I close down the project and re-open it.

Using EA9.9.930, TFS and MSSQL Repository
DGB Using 12.0.1214 / eaDocX 3.6.2.1 / MSSQL / TFS / Windows 7 / IE11

No. For most cases EA will find clashes when you access elements. E.g. when you have an open diagram and someone else makes changes "under the hood" you get a warning that the diagram was remotely changed (you can verify be opening an EAP twice).

However, the way to deal with that is to apply user locks either by EA security or by VC. (I prefer user locks)

@Doug
EA does not auto refresh the project browser.

You can manually refresh a specific package by "Select Package->Right Click->contents->reload package"

You can manually refresh everything in the project browser by "File->Reload Current Project"
