Importing DB schema from ODBC
« on: June 25, 2012, 09:51:05 pm »
I have Enterprise Architect 7.1.830 and I am unable to import database tables in terms of column comment or table comment from Oracle database when umlauts are present. During my attempt to import tables comments were imported however it is not possible to distinguish umlauts since all umlauts seem to be broken. For example umlaut Ü (windows code page code: Alt+0220) displays as [ch262]¼. What can I do?

As a first remedy I would run a script to change the umlaut back from unicode to the beloved windoze code page. Second a bug report might be appropriate (see link at bottom of the page).

As a second remedy I'd upgrade to v9, so much work has been done on unicode, and make sure the DB is Jet 4 or otherwise unicode capable.
