EA crashing with files located on network drives
« on: April 30, 2013, 03:23:13 am »
Hi I'm using Windows 7 x64 and am working with .eap files hosted on another network harddrive. After an hour or two Enterprise Architect will crash unexpectedly. The error message says lost network connection. EA works fine on local files, but these files hosted on network drives cause crashing.

Any fix on this?

I'd rather suspect a network than an EA issue. Working on MS Access databases (which EAPs are) is anyway not recommended. Your network admin knows why.

While EA could handle a network failure when accessing a remote eap file more gracefully, it is not crashing. It has shown a message telling you it is about to shut down.

I guess for the user that doesn't make a big difference  ;)

He'd probably be lucky to know why that hick-up occurred. And even more, if it didn't occur at all.
