Printing diagrams at large size

Hi folks,

I need to be able to print a (complicated) class diagram at A1 or A0 size [for a training session where I cant use electronic media, if anybody is curious about the reason]. I have the current build of EA but it will only allow me to set drawing properties to a max size of A3. I've tried printing to PDF etc but get multiple pages and it looks horrible.

So, does anybody know how I can accomplish this?

If I could export the drawing to a high-res jpeg file that would be a workaround (I can print the jpeg) but I cant seem to save a diagram into that format either..... so, I am stuck.

IIRC (there was a recent similar discussion) this depends on the printer's limits. Try something like FreePDF. That should give you more options.

I did wonder if it was linked somehow to what printers (well, printer drivers) were installed on the machine, so I added an A0 plotter but it made no difference - EA still maxes out at A3. Sigh.

You're right that FreePDF does not seem to offer a larger paper size. But switching the printer gave different paper options. For my Canon A3 printer it even offered custom paper sizes (but then only up to A3). So I guess with an A0 printer attached you can select that size.

Maybe there is some PDF printer that offers A0 too?

P.S. FreePDF emulates an Apple LW 12/660. So if you have some advanced driver you can probably also print A0. It definitely depends on the pinter driver.

You've probably already solved this but...

I print diagrams at totally ludicrous sizes, with an HP plotter.

If you install a printer driver for a plotter (ideally pick one with the largest paper size) you'll be able to add a wealth of new sizes.

PS... The current device is a HP DesignJet T790ps 44in PS3, if you install a driver for that printer, you should be good to go.
