Launching
« on: March 29, 2011, 01:43:14 pm »

We find Launch doesn't work for us (864).
Anyone else have this problem.

Also, does anyone have a view on EA being a bit smarter about detecting automatically web addresses vs local file.
It seems to me EA should be able to set this automatically.

Launch stalls for me too.  Is that the behaviour?  Page starts to load then stalls?

I used: http://www.dpmc.govt.nz/cabinet/circulars/co08/COC-08-01.pdf
as the target.

The good news is that it appears to work in v9 beta.

Thanks.
When I click on the Launch button absolutely nothing happens for me,
no browser window in sight, no loading, whether I already have a browser window open or not.
Platform is WXP SP3.

FWIW, so was mine (that I tested on).  However, the machine I'm on I inherited and the SOE has been hacked by previous developers (not by me - oh no...  ;))  so no real comment can be made.

Launch works for me accessing web addresses. I'm using EA V7.5 B850 on Vista at present. Don't recall having any problems with EA V8.0 B864 on Windows 7 when I tested a few months ago.
Happy to help
:)

Just tried launch button on EA V8.0 B864 on Windows 7 and it works fine.

Skiwi,
Thinking about it further when Jim and I were working at your place we imported the e-government standards into EA as part of creating the standards information base. At the time all the URLs to which these standards referred launched okay - I know cause I tested each one. That was way back in August 2008.

May its how your Windows XP platform has been set up or modified. :-/
