License won't install
« on: July 16, 2014, 01:57:43 am »
I'm trying to install a new license but when I add the license I get the message:

"Please open a model before attempting to enable security."

I have no valid key at present so I can't get 'in'.

I think this has something to do with Version Control but can I disable this by removing a setting in the registry or some other file?

I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no change.

Version 11

Thanks

I found my old key and installed it ok, but i'm upgrading from Pro to Corporate.

Now the message I get alternates between:

"Security has been disabled."

and

"Security has been enabled on the current model. You can now login as 'admin' with the password 'password' and create and administer users, groups and permissions."

But the license still doesn't get added.

The 'key' you are attempting to enter is not an EA License Key.  It is the Authorization Key to enable User Security on an EA model file.

Your license key(s) should have been provided via email in a section that looks like:

************************************
Your registration key/s:
...
************************************

If you are unable to locate your license key in the email that was provided at the time of purchase, please contact [email protected] or [email protected] for further assistance.
