I bet t hasn't to do with EA. EA is a program like any other program (e.g. Notepad) and does not tangent any security issues. Two things to do: a) check for viruses or the like. b) re-install EA. And a third thing: explain in more detail what happens when you try to open EA.

As a side node: maybe it's just you can't write well in English. There's a chance someone can translate from your native language (it it's not some too strange dialect). So eventually post in both your language and in English. But as long as you can read well it's okay this way :)

Unfortunately Microsoft released a couple of bad patches last week. Last I read the advice from Microsoft was to uninstall them.

Edit: See http://www.zdnet.com/microsoft-pulls-updates-recommends-uninstall-7000032678/ for the list of problem patches.

I bet it hasn't to do with EA.

I always blame Microsoft first, this often saves a lot of time...

When it doesn't, I still get to blame Microsoft, which I enjoy.

We have seen issues with EA11 in combination with MS14-045, specifically KB2982791. As per Microsoft advice we have removed the update from the systems. Very likely the issue with your version is the same, as the issue relates to the updates win32k.sys module.

Ah qwerty!

You have reminded me of a favourite joke from the old days...

"I can make your computer run 100 times more efficiently with a simple DOS command!"

"How?"

"Go to the C:\ prompt, and type: deltree \windows"

 ;D

Seriously people, don't do this. (Just in case deltree is still in the CMD DOS emulator)

I think what you want is rmdir /s /q C:\Windows

Of course, I don't advocate this as Windows is the best way to run my favourite software.

Out of curiosity, I tried it on a VM. The command failed but was enough to prevent windows from booting.

Yes...

I believe that there was a relatively recent post which explained that there will never be a version of EA for linux...

To be more precise. I can't see a situation where a native linux version of EA would be economically viable. So the word never would only apply if under the assumption that my imagination is perfect and Sparx Systems is always going to be concerned with making profit.

I understand. I really do.

But I'm still sad about it. :(

Your penguin looks quite despondent too.
