Another option since EA12 RC2 is the BPMN Diagram Validator.

You an optionally turn off the message during modeling (Tools | Options | Links | Strict Connector Syntax | Uncheck) and validate the diagram (Context menu on BPMN Diagram | Validate Diagram) when you wanted.

The result will be showing in the System Output window, BPMN2.0 Tab. Double click on the message will highlight the elements on the diagram.

Give a try on that. ;)
