Print to PDF
« on: May 28, 2015, 05:58:47 pm »
EA 12 build 1214 has a Print to PDF menu item on the File menu. I cannot remember if it was there before and was getting sligthly excited about it but I know better. There is a big problem with it: it misses quite a few diagram shapes.

Has anybody come accross this?

No. But to be save use FreePDF which emulates a printer and saves results as PDF. Works perfect.

I have exactly the same problem with FreePDF. However, if I save the diagram to a BMP file it exports fine.

I guess then it's a(nother) EA bug and you should send a report.

Hmmm, when I use the "Print to PDF" on larger BPMN collaboration diagrams (17 pools) it Looses the lines of the sequence flows on the lower part of the diagram (the arrow heads 'survives', but the lines dissapear!)

BUT: when I use "Print" and then choose the "PDF Creator" printer all items from the diagram survives - HOWEVER: with that driver I have not succeeded in retaining the diagram ratio - so that causes problems when I want to print wall-size prints out on our wide-format printer.
