Fully qualified name with alternate image
« on: August 17, 2015, 07:59:51 pm »
Hi, I am running into an unwanted side effect on applying an alternate image to an element (in my case an ArchiMate Artifact). The name of the element in the diagram is suddenly printed in bold, with the fully qualified name instead of just the name. This makes my diagram harder to layout, esp. for deeply nested elements. Can I do something about this?

I don't have that effect. Which version and what steps?

Latest version I think: 12.0.1215
I use a plugin (not sure whether that might be the cause): BEASI EA.
The diagram is an implementation and migration ArchiMate diagram. I just tried in another non-BEASI diagram and the same thing happens. Steps:
create ArchiMate 2.0 Implementation and Migration diagram
enter a new Device (Technology layer)
drag a new Artifact in the Device
et voila

It looks like Archimate diagrams have Show Namespace turned on. Turn it off in properties/Diagram.

thanks, already tried that (and any other option in the diagram properties dialogs) and that did not have any effect.

Strange. When I turned off that option the FQN was replaced by the simple name. Maybe you contact Sparx support directly.

@robject
When you get to the bottom of this, please report back.  We're also interested in this potential problem.
