delete package does not delete package
« on: September 12, 2015, 03:04:34 am »
A co-worker showed me a package he could not delete yesterday.  Today, I have one.  We are both using EA 11 build 1113 for this.

What happened to me today.
I'm not sure how much of this is relevant.  Maybe the problem was there before I started.
I had a package A with a subpackage B.  (B was supposed to be one level higher).  I wanted to copy A, so I used the copy and paste functionality in the project browser to make A'.  A' then had B' in it.  I tried to delete B' in the project browser.  The usual dialog appeared to ask me if I was really sure.  I said yes and the dialog goes away, but the package is still there.  I moved the package elsewhere, renamed it, etc., but I still can't delete it.  I created ATemp and put B' under it, but now I can't delete ATemp (even if I remove B' from it).  I created a new package (ATemp2) with nothing under it, and now I can't delete it.  So it seems I can't delete any packages.  (No, it isn't a version control issue--the package is checked out and I can make other changes just fine.)  I tried restarting EA.  What else?

Never mind.

I was able to reproduce this for a new package even in a new project.  I reported this within our organization, and we quickly traced it to a custom extension we had installed.  When we uninstalled the extension, we could delete packages.  So we know there is an issue with the extension, not a problem in EA itself.
