Managing Status Type Field

Can anyone tell me how can we change, or modify, or add one item from list of Status Types items using Automation?

I have not tried this but I think under Repository, there is a list called Status, which might be what you are looking for. I do not have my EA with me at the moment so I can not test it, but it is worth a try.
