Using Diagrams in Documentation
« on: May 02, 2002, 03:05:58 pm »
I just downloaded the EA 30 Day Trial to determine its appropriateness for a client.  I am favorably impressed, but do have a question.

Is there any way to 'cut and paste' diagrams into Microsoft Office?  The only way that I found to get a sample Use Case Diagram into a Word document that I am sending to the client was to save the diagram to a file (.gif) and then insert the file as a picture into Word.

The clipboard used by EA does not appear to be the Windows Clipboard.  Is there a reason?  It surely would make things much easier.

Thanks in advance for your responses.

There are several choices:

1. Diagram -> Save Diagram to clipboard (Ctrl B)
      Pastes into word nicely

2. If you are going to save the diagram, use a WMF or EMF - they are line-art and will come out much better on screen and when printed

3. Use the built-in RTF documentation

Thanks, Ronnie.
I thought that I had tried that one, but it worked like a charm. I appreciate your help.
