EA Project based on RUP
« on: March 21, 2002, 03:12:20 am »
Forgive me if this has been covered before but...

Our company has just started working with EA and we base all our projects on the RUP lifecycle.  Has anyone got a base project based on RUP?  If nothing else, the RUP roles definitions would help.

TIA.

My company is also using the RUP and I'd also be interested if anyone has a base project based on it.

Hi,

Did this thread ever get a response?  Has anyone created a workspace to emulate the RUP phases or workflows?

Or is this arrangement of views just not *appropriate*?

TIA,

We are appying the UP, but not actually using RUP.

We have gone for packaging our model by the Views/Models defined by UP, rather than the Phases and Disciplines(Workflows).  We find this more intuitive since the artifacts produced during the Phases contribute to one of the defined Views/Models.

For example the Inception phase begins the Use Case View/Model.  From this view the Domain View/Model grows as the project moves into Elaboration, where the Design View/Model is started.

I haven't created an EA Base project for this packaging format, but it would not take long to do so if it would be useful.

:)Am working on a base project to try and follow the ICONIX process which is a middle of the road methodology between RUP and eXtreme Programming.  We are also developing check lists and report templates in Word so am thinking of developing high level diagrams made up mainly of hyperlinks to these documents and parts of the methodology manual we are developing for our company.
