Hello,

This has proved to be a confusing part of EA ... from release 3.1- build 465 a warning message should be  given which indicates how to set this up, and the help has been updated to include more information (topic='Drop Object From Tree')

There are two options:

1. Hold down the Control key while drag/drop - this inverts the current default behavior and will give you a link rather than an instance
2. Go to the View/Optionss dialog - diagram page - and clear the 'Auto Instance' check box ... this will make the default behaviour 'Create Link'
