i  have just downloaded EA Version 3.10 - Build 500 . When  i try  to  open a new project or open one i get a  message that ea has made a illegal operation  

I use Win98 SE .This  is  the dump i get . help me  out

Hi, I believe u get this kind of error occassionally if ur system runs out of memory. I am not saying this is the reason, but that it might be.

hi, I want to add that try closing all other applications before starting EA might help.

And by the way, Sparks was saying something about the new installer used in build 500? Don't know how that will affect win98 se.

I tried closing all apps and reinstalling EA(which i did b4 posting this message).But the problem persists.All other applications are working fine .
But one interesting thing i like to add is that when i click the cancel button( to open EA without opening any file) EA starts up.but again the  same problem turns up if i try opening a  file.

I even downloaded EA again but in vain.

To answer your easier question first, EA is behaving as design after you press cancel (on the open a project screen).  The ability to do this is required to perform admin functions to project files.

To the problem at hand.  Is this your first install of EA?  Do you have MSAccess 2000 (or later) installed on your machine?  At the moment we are not sure what could be causing the problem.  It could be a MSJet problem since you you are only receiving after you select a project to open.  In the past we have had one or two reported problems related to corrupted registry entries that caused simliar problems.

Maybe you could send us an email to either [email protected]  or [email protected] with the answers to the above questions or any other additional information you can think of.  We will be able to continue this discussion in a faster manner.
