Enterprise Architect on VirtualPC / Mac OS X
« on: June 23, 2003, 04:38:12 am »
Hi There,

I'm seriously considering buying a laptop before then end of this year and am also seriously considering the idea that said laptop is a Apple G4/G5 machine.

I'm a Java developer so I think it makes sense. (That and I'm not interested in a religious war about Windows vs. Linux vs. OS X).

Does anyone out there know if it is possible to, or better yet, have any experience with running Enterprise Architect (I own a 3.5 license) on OS X with Virtual PC (or similar software)?

I've experimented with EA on an old Mac G3 BW.  It is running the latest Mac OS X version and VPC 6 with Windows XP.   I found that EA functionally ran with no problems.  However, it was no surprise that the performance was dog slow, as my G3 runs at 333 Mhz and VPC 6 recommends a G4 running at a much faster speed.   I would predict that a faster Mac would have no problems running EA using VPC 6.
