Using only SQL Server, not *.eap files?
« on: July 04, 2003, 06:59:56 am »
Hello from Brazil!

I'm planning on using EA with SQLServer 2000. I already know how to transfer data between then. I would like to know if its possible to use only SQL Server as a data repository, with no further need to transfer data.

I searched the documentantion, and on SetUp_SQLServer.txt found the cryptic phrase :

"...
Once the process completes, you will have upsized your model to SQL Server and can now open it from EA (see help file for details on connecting to a DBMS Model)
..."

Does this mean that from now on I can use only SQL Server and forget *.eap files or do I still have to transfer data every time I make a change? I couldn't find any mention of this in EA's help.

Thank you in advance and congratulations for your great product!

You can indeed continue to use just SQL Server as the repository. There is no need to revert to the EAP files. :)
