Multiple Developer Support
« on: September 10, 2003, 01:35:47 pm »
We have a central "UML.EAP" project, on a shared network drive.  2 developers work on this project, which works very well during the day.  But...

What if Developer 1 synchronizes the shared network drive to his local laptop and goes home for the night.  While at home, he makes some changes to a package in the project.

Meanwhile, Developer 2 has done the same thing - synchronized, went home, did some work.

The next morning, how do you get the changes merged together?  Is it possible without voodoo magic and sacrifices to Pagan deities?

Thanks for any help!
-Steven

Steven,

Why don't you use the Corporate Edition?  This lets each developer's EA client tool to connect to a central repository (MySQL, or SQLServer).   Check out:
http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/ea_corp_ed.htm

I've played with the MySQL repository but have held off on using multi-developer until the Oracle connection came out.

In writing this post, I just realized that it's out, so I'll be installing the Oracle EA Repository soon.
