Model Replication Conflicts
« on: October 01, 2003, 07:50:34 am »
Hi,
I am looking into how EA handles multi-user updates to the model, with special regard to how it handles disconnected users.

1) Could someone please confirm that there is no way of having an 'offline' version of a model that is stored in a database? (SQL Server 2000 in this case)?  If this isn't possible is there a way of submitting it as a request?

2) I created a Design Master and two replicas of a model.  I then deleted a node in ReplicaA and updated the same node with new values in ReplicaB.  I then merged ReplicaA back first and then ReplicaB.  I was expecting to be notified of a conflict when I merged ReplicaB - however no conflict was noted and the object that I had deleted was still gone, so in effect I lost my ReplicaB update.

Can anyone point me to a definition of what constitutes/causes conflicts so that I can document how they are handled?

Many thanks for any help
Best regards
Nick
