Feature Visibility
« on: November 11, 2003, 10:14:57 am »
How do I get a subclass to show the inherited attributes/operations?  The help file says to right-click on a component and choose "specify feature visibility", but that menu item doesn't appear when I right-click.  How do I do this?

G'day,

At some point, one of the new EA builds lost that menu item from the context menu for elements on a diagram.

You can find that menu item in the "Element" menu on the application menu bar.

That said, I don't know if it is possible to show inherited attributes/operations directly in a sub-class (kind of like when attributes show when setting run-state for an object).

Until we find out otherwise, I'd suggest putting the parent class on the same diagram as the sub-class with a generalization link between them.
Cheers and best regards.

Hi gohickey and Jason,

There is no way to show inherited attributes/operations in a sub class yet. We may look at adding such an option, but it probably won't be done in the short term.

The "Set Feature Visibility" menu option (along with a number of others) was moved out of the element context menu and into the main Element menu with the release of 3.60. This was done to unclutter the context menus. The Help file will be corrected to reflect this.

Regards,
Ben
