Password removal
« on: December 10, 2003, 10:39:15 am »
I made a framework ready to be used as a ground basis for project managers. However, this file asks for a password at the begining, right when I open it. How can I disable it? I tried accessing the Project|Security option in the menu, where there is an option called Enabled Security. This option is allways turned on, no whater how many times I click on it... so basically, the file allways asks for a password. How can I turn it off? Some one please help me.

Thank you,
jsilva

I am not sure if I fully understand.... but do you store the model in a file or in a database? In case of MS SQL Server, unless you use Integrated NT Security, you will be asked for the password of the database user who connects to the database (which has nothing to do with the EA security)

Security has been enabled on the model, to disable do the following.

Log into the model as an admin user and select "Project"->"Security"->"Enable Security"

At the "Enter Authorisation" dialog enter the value gained from the web page

http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/ea_corp_ed.htm

to enable security.

eg

{C27378C8-6CD8-4efa-92F8-4E0E4F1A8B65}

And select OK.

Follow the prompts.

This process will toggle the security feature, so repeating it will reset the security.

Cheers Graeme. :)
