Hide operator/attributes per view(class)?
« on: January 19, 2004, 04:54:55 pm »
Hi,

Is there already or is there the intention in a future release to allow control of the displaying of operator and/or attributes on a per view (class) basis.

When I am designing MyClass which inherits from Vector, i will pull in a link of Vector but want to hide the operators and atttributes for this view of Vector but still display all operators and attributes of MyClass in the same diagram. Where Vector is actually defined in the model should not be affected - that is, i would like each instance of the view to have this control (as per Rational Rose, etc).

This lets me focus on the task at hand without cluttering the diagram with detail that is not needed.

If there is another way of achieving this, please let me know. I could not find any reference to this kind of thing in the archive (search: hide | view ).

Thanks.
Nick.

Go to Element | Set Feature Visibility.

Yes, but what would be nice is to be able to turn off individual feature visibility on an individual view of an element.

E.g., in this diagram, I want to hide these operations and those attributes -- not necessarily all attributes/operations according to visibility.

Ah, I see what you mean.  AFAIK this can't be done in EA.  It would be a really neat feature though.  Why not post it to the Suggestions & Requests forum?
