Can Zicom Mentor keep pace with EA

Well done Sparx for officially releasing EA 4 which includes all 13 of the UML 2 diagrams. I have been using the BETA versions for the past month and found them very stable considering the amount of changes introduced. Will Zicom Mentor be upgraded to include all of the UML 2 to keep pace with EA? I personally find the two tools work very well together.

Yes!! Zicom Mentor for UML 2.0 and EA 4.0 will be released shortly. We have been working on UML 2.00 for some time and have added some 60 new elements - explaining how to use the new UML 2.00 syntax. We have added interactive diagram support in the current version (2.1) and this will be used to demonstrate how to use UML 2.0 with more than 100 new examples planned. We are also working on a number of new features that will make UML modeling much more intuitive. Any suggestions of how the product can be improved to help you with UML modeling are always welcomed.

Comment: Stephen your Mentor product is way cool for EA users.  Any EA user that hasn't licensed it yet must be STUPID (easy guys, that's a hyperbole...).  I've been a happy customer for the approximately 8 months I've been using it.   And no, I don't work for Stephen  

Question: Will the new version support both UML 2.x and 1.x content?  I'm still working out how to get EA 4.0 and 3.6 to work together cooperatively because I find that I'm still switching back and forth between the UML versions, as required by different clients.  It's kind of painful at the moment.

Answer to your Question: Glad to here you are getting benefit from Mentor. Our current plan is to present the UML 1.5 and UML 2.0 in two separate books.  So you can flick between them and see some of the differences. We are also going to make some annotations to the new and changed UML elements to indicate how they relate to the UML 1.5 specification i.e. if they are New/Revised/Augmented etc. Of course there will be many more interactive examples to demonstrate aspects of their usage. The interactive diagrams will now include the new diagram types: including Sequence Diagram which were missed in Version 2.1. Once again any suggestions would be warmly welcomed.
