Diference between activity-para. and object-node??

Hi it's me again, with an other question,

activities has the possibility to add the embedded Elements  Expansion Node, Object Node and Activity Parameter.

The function of a Excpasion Node is clear to me. And I think Activity Parameter is also clear (it's described in the Online Help).
But I don't understand the function of Object Nodes.

Is it not the same like an Activity Parameter?
