Diagrams IDEF

Would I like to know the EA work with diagrams IDEF?

Hi Denise,

EA is a UML modeling tool. While there are similarities between IDEF and UML (and as a matter of fact portions of UML are based on IDEF), they are not quite the same. EA does not support IDEF diagrams per se.
Now, having said that, EA allows you to create new stereotypes for elements (e.g. Activity, Use Case etc.) and modify the way they are displayed. You could easily create set of stereotypes that would modify the default element set in EA to suit IDEF language.
This would in fact allow you to mix UML and IDEF which is what, for example, Popkin's products do when they combine UML Use Case models with 3 IDEF1,2 and 3.

Bottomline: NO, EA does not support IDEF diagrams. YES, you can make it to.
