731 trial installer broken?

Just downloaded the trial version, and it refuses to install - giving me an "Error 1325: 'Favorites' is not a valid short file name" error.

Am I doing something wrong?

According to the Microsoft support website the error message "Error 1325: '<filename>' is not a valid short file name" error is the result of the following circumstances:  

- As a result of a corrupted registry setting
- Interrupted installations of programs or Multiple  instances of the setup program running at the same time.  

Microsoft offers a solution to the problem at http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;EN-US;290301, but recommends caution before using the windows installer clean up utility.
