Hiding and unhiding element labels
« on: September 10, 2004, 03:57:36 pm »
I hid a label in an element by right-clicking on the text and selecting Hide label. For example, I can hide the Name property for an application logic element this way.  There doesn't appear to be any way to redisplay it. Have you come across this?

What type of diagram is this in? Was the label on a connector? If it is on a connector, then right click on the connector and select Set Visibility submenu. Then check the items you want visible.

I can hide/unhide on a connector, but not on a decision element. This was in an activity diagram.

The same problem exists for labels attached to interfaces and ports. Is this a bug or a feature?

I've actually already raised this as a bug and hopefully it should be fixed in 740 (crosses fingers).

One thing you can do is go into the Embedded Elements dialog and uncheck the element against which you want to get the label back and then select Ok to confirm the change. Go back into the Embedded Elements screen and reselect the element - doesn't necessarily work everywhere though. If it doesn't work and the element isn't heavily linked the delete it and recreate it.

You can select one of the connected elements and open the relations window. By right-clicking the hidden relation you'll be offered a "Show Relation".

right click on the link, set visiblitiy - > set label visibility...
u will be given a list of elements that u can hide/show

if the link is hidden, go to 'diagram' menu -> set visible relations...

hope that helps  ;)
