What's the <memo> tagged value type?
« on: November 23, 2004, 10:58:40 am »
The release notes for 4.5 say:

"Added <memo> Tagged Value type - used for storing large and complex data in a tagged value."

What is this, where is documented, and how do I use it?

Thanks,
Eric

You can see this memo field in the properties of a tag or by highlighting one tag in the tags window.

When entering new tags there is now (4.5) a value field. Unfortunately you can't enter values here. When double clicking a tag you don't get the opportunity to enter the value, you only get the properties. Would have been nice if the properties window for tags would open when creating and changing tags - and always containing value and memo. Waiting for 741  :(

Eric,

With the Tagged Values window visible, select your element. Select a tagged value (or create a new one) and do one of the following: press Ctrl+E (for Edit), press the Edit Notes button on the Tagged Values window's toolbar, or enter <memo> as the value of the tagged value and then double-click on it.

There is a Help button on the Tagged Values window's toolbar that will take you to the relevant section of the help file.

HTH,

Neil
