MDG Link for Eclipse and Enterprise Architect
« on: January 27, 2005, 10:59:10 am »
I am trying to evaluate EA and the MDG link for Eclipse.  I have a small sample project that was created in Eclipse and I want to "link" this to an EA project.

In EA I created a new View under the views called Eclipse.  As per the instructions I then right clicked the Eclipse view and selected the merge option.  So far so good, it imports the package structure and class from the project, but it does not create any diagrams.

Is this the intended behavior?  Do I then need to select New Diagram->Class and drag and drop the items to get Class Diagrams created?  How about package diagrams?

The documentation does not seem to be much help since it does not elaborate on the outcome of the merge.  I am also confused about the "connection".  Once connected shouldn't all the class/pacakage/sequence diagrams be associate?  Or do I have to continue to "connect" each view with Eclipse?

Another thing I would like is automatic round tripping similar to TogetherCC, that is when I add methods/pacakages and classes to my code I would like to see them updated in the models.  Is this possible?  I know can manual kick off the sync but would prefer it to just happen.

One last thing, are there any additional help files or tutorials that I can download?
