Layout Diagram - Activity Diagram

I'm in the process of evaluating EA - one thing puzzles me so far ... how do you get the the layout digram feature to reognise which swimlane / partition activities should be in? Or does the layout digram feature not cater for this?

AFAIK auto layout only works for class diagrams. It doesn't recognize partitions and blurbs previous layouts

Two quotes from the EA help file on the 'auto layout' feature.

This will attempt to create a reasonable tree based structure

Note: Dynamic and analysis diagrams are NOT suited to this form of layout
