Powertypes & Inheritance

Hello,

Does EA not support attribute inheritance for sub-classes linked to their superclass using the powertype notation?  

In other words, when I create a superclass and associate it to a powertype class and from their associate sub-classes to the superclass via the "instanceOf" stereotyped dependency  connection to the powertype class, I lose the ability to create objects and set run-time attributes that are contained in the superclass.  However, when I simply associate the sub-class to the superclass using a generalization connector, attribute inheritance works fine.
