Granularity of Version Control

I've setup the packages in my model to be version controlled by SourceSafe.

It seems to be exporting the packages to XMI and doing version control on the XMI files.

So, correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems that the granularity (for roll-back and etc) is at the package level, rather than individual objects (like classes)?

Is it possible to refine the granularity to objects (classes...etc.) rather than packages?

AFAIK it is not possible to work on a finer granularity than package.
