Test Case (modeling element) and Testing View
« on: April 15, 2005, 02:29:59 am »
Hy !

I use Test Case in EA 4.51.
I can associate the Test Case with Use Case on UML diagram.

But I don't understand by the Test case taken from the Toolbox don't appear on "Testing View". So the activity "Test management" (Follow, Acceptance, Status,...) isn't associate with the test case of diagram. Why ?
EA Limitation ?

Don't get me started .... !!

No.
The diagram 'test case' is unconnected with the Testing View 'test case'.

I (and others) have made pleas (search forums) for some more coherent strategy on Testing (and Requirements, at that) but since UML doesn't get involved with these things, there is nothing ideal.

But EA is great for 'normal' UML !!!!

Maybe someone could post a diagram of how it ought to work...

BTW: I agree with Thomas and Bruce....

It seems to me the same patterns should kill a pile of non-orthogonality in the product.

http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=suggestions;action=display;num=1101322647 is a point to start with. Although it's more about project management I think it can and should be aligned with testing also.
