Mutiplicity default adornment settings
« on: April 18, 2005, 01:54:38 am »
If you right-click on a multiplicity object, you see a number of context menu options; two of which are:
  • Default Positon
  • Default Color
Where can I set these defaults for the machine \ project \ package \ diagram?

What is a "multiplicity object"?

The little text object that displays the multiplicity (located at the ends of the association on a diagram).

I don't know about setting those defaults, but those options restore the defaults (which I assume are built in to EA.)

Thanks Simon,

But I did realise that they would reset the defaults.  My questions was specifically where are these defaults set, if they are settable;  and if not, why not?

Sorry, I misunderstood your original question.

Neither can be set, as why not.  I didn't make the decision, but the position is an offset to the default.  If a default was settable then it would likely result in more messy diagrams as not all links attatch to classes from the same direction, as a result the multiplicity of the link could end up inside the class or something like that.

I don't see a good reason why the default colour isn't settable, except for consistancy...

I can live with not being able to set the default position (for now ;D).  But I think the other attributes - Font and Colour ought to be settable as defaults by the user.
