Autohide, controlling list of displays
« on: July 03, 2005, 08:19:18 pm »
I've finally got around to using autohide on the windows.  Works very nicely, thank you...

However, It's not clear what controls the list of widows that are autohidden (in my case on the right of the screen).

I can see that the groupings are related to the groupings I had before I autohid.  However, the order of the groupings appears arbitrary...  It seems to differ from machine to machine.

If I wanted to move one grouping from the bottom to the top, how can I do that?

Cheerz,
Paolo

Hi there Paolo,

The ordering tabs in the auto-hide bar is last in goes to the bottom.  Unfortunately the only way to rearrange these tabs once they're on the auto-hide bar is to disable auto-hide, then reapply it to the windows in the desired order.  Sorry, no drag n' drop.

Ash,

I presume the layout is retained in the Registry and once I've got it to my satisfaction I can export the registry branch and reset it when required...

It's much safer and easier to use the user layout save/load state dialog: View->Visual Layouts->User Layouts...

I use it all the time, just bind the the menu item to a keyboard short cut and away you go :D!

Cheers,
