Floating license
« on: August 11, 2005, 02:02:44 am »
Hi,

We consider buying floating license. I have a question. How does automatic check in/out work? Does the user need to perform any specific action when start EA? E.g. do request for license key somehow and so on?

Thanks,
Vit Matejka.

I would like to add a question:

What happens if the license server is unavailable for some reason? It is not inconceivable that network or server problems could sometime occur, and it would be very unfortunate if all the floating EA users are prevented from working during these down-periods.

From that page,

The user doesn't need to perform any action either when starting EA or closing it.

You can operate the keystore in a mode where a user gets a key for a set period of time, according to your needs.  So, if you are worried about server problems, set the time limit to a longer period.
