Pay for Model
« on: September 22, 2005, 05:41:57 am »
I am willing to pay for an EA model of a system.  The system can be invented or not, but must encompas all or nearly all of the uml elements.  The system must be an integrated whole and not fragments like are found in examples.

First, is anyone interested?

Do you have a budget? ;D

Are you willing to let us in on it? ;D

How soon do you want it?

Who will retain the Intellectual Property on the model?

Yes, about $100 for a comprehensive model.

The goal of the model is to be a reference for me.
I would like to see all the elements being used.  I want the model to be business related.  I would like included an analysis of a business process, one that goes beyond "typical" cases.

I do not have a critical time frame, it is for my personal use.  I have no problem with a month or so.

Intellectual Property... hmmm, that brings up a lot of options as far as selling it.  I need to think about that, but at the moment I am interested in a good reference model for myself with only personal usage rights.

I downloaded and tried the Evaluation version.  The diagrams are all example snippets, together they do not represent a single system.  For instance one example is about an airport checkin and another showing a mother and child relationship.  If the examples were all part of the same system then it would help me understand things like, "whats in a package" because if the model was a complete system then I could find out what would have to be in that package.

But, it seems pretty detailed so I am going to purchase it.

Paolo - I am going to hold off on paying for a complete model until I decide if Zicom Mentor is not enough for me.

Thanks

-Bill

Hi Bill,
honestly speaking I decided to go the hard way (without Zicom - I only used the eval suite for some time). There are several promoters here (esp. CJ; use Search for "Zicom") and I think it is helpful even for advanced users (not me -  I want to feel the pain, reading through Superstructures!) ;D
