EA crash under Crossover Office
« on: September 26, 2005, 04:50:12 pm »
Hi, folks--

I'm running EA version 5 under Crossover Office, connecting to a server repository using MySQL. There seems to be an issue with the size of the model; up until a few days ago, I could connect fine, but now when I try to connect, EA crashes (if I start it from the console, Crossover gives an error message about a "page fault on write"). I can still open local EAP files just fine, but the repository is a no-go right now.

I also noticed this error occurring when I imported a large number of classes into the model from third-party sources (which we're using to model our usage of them)--I had to pare down the number of classes I imported (by manually deleting them from the database) to be able to open the repository again.

Any ideas? I'm stuck at the moment, other than trying to install VMWare and run EA there.

I forgot to mention that I'm running Crossover Office Standard version 4.2, and EA 5.00.767 (well, actually, I couldn't get the version number from EA when I posted, as I was trying to export the DBMS to an EAP file to see if I could open it).

Turns out that even if I use the Data Transfer dialog to copy the repository models to an EAP file, EA will crash opening the EAP file.
