Linking Between Diagrams
« on: October 11, 2005, 02:50:42 am »
We would like to link between diagrams in our Project.  We know we can use a package on a diagram and that will open another diagram when double clicked.  We also know you can drag a diagram from the Project View and create a hyperlink this way.

We have used the Process, Send, Receive types in some of our digrams and would like to be able to explain these in more detail if needed by having another diagram and then being able to double click the original process and it open the more detailed diagram.  Is this possible?

Or is there a better way of doing this?

Cheers

Are the "Process, Send, Receive types" classes? In that case you can set them as Composite (right click Advanced Settings/Set as Composite). That will create a diagram inside which opens when double clicking the class icon.

Well that does what we want.  We just want to describe that particular Process in more detail by using another diagram and linking like that makes it easy to navigate.

Not sure this is using UML or the EA tool correctly though.
