Versions 5 and 6 on the same machine

Is is possible to run a licensed copy of version 5 and the trial copy of version 6 on the same machine for evaluation purposes ?

If you have licensed 5.0 you have the right to use 6.0. It's hardly possible to have both on the same machine. You better have a 2nd (virtual) machine to compare both.

Sadly, it's not practical for me to have 2 machines to compare versions 5 and 6.   So,  is it reasonable to

- uninstall version 5
- install version 6
- if it all goes wrong uninstall verison 6 and reinstall version 5 ?

Yes, nothing wrong with that.

Before installing a new version of EA, I always rename the old EA.exe to EAnnn.exe (where 'nnn' is the build number). I now have a few dozen executables and they all work fine - reinstalling the old version doesn't seem necessary. The only time this doesn't work is if there are new features in the model which the old software version doesn't recognize (but if you're making use of the new features you probably won't want to revert).
