Use Case Metrics: Default Hour Rate
« on: November 23, 2005, 04:27:34 am »
Hello,

What is the Default Hour Rate?
Is it the hours that I effectively work per day?

Thanks!

Sebastian

Hi Sebastien,

the Default Hour Rate is a number of hours you estimate you will need to spend on a Use Case Point. The default method implemented in EA assumes that a Simple UC is an equivalent of 5 UC Point, Medium UC = 10 Points and Complex UC = 15 Points (there are other formulas that use different numbers though).

Chances are it will take you a while until you arrive at a usable number... there is no pre-defined number someone can tell you to use, the number should be based mostly on your historical data.
