Business Process - Documentation
« on: December 30, 2005, 03:23:16 am »
Hello

I have been using EA to model business processes and have found it to be very good. The visualisation of processes using activity diagrams and swim lanes has been well received by my business customers.

My UML knowledge is slim so I am not sure I am going in the right direction now. I need to elaborate the activities within the activity diagram to provide more "wordy" descriptions for each activity.

Is there any way to do this using the tool - I did attempt to do this by creating a separate stand alone document, but there is no way ( I know of ) to reference each individual activity within the activity diagram.

Any thoughts or suggestions appreciated.

I am not exactly sure that I understand what you want to do.
Can't you use the 'Notes' field of each activity for your description? You also have the possibility of specifying 'Responsibilites', 'Constraints', and 'Scenarios' for each activity.

Best regards,
