Poseidon vs. EA
« on: January 30, 2006, 11:33:59 pm »
Hi all!

We want to migrate UML project from Poseidon4.0 to EA.
But problem is, when we exported project from Poseidon to XMI and then we imported it to EA, only class diagrams were imported to EA, nor use cases nor state diagrams, etc.

Can you help me with this problem?

Maybe XMI incompatibility?

Thanks,
Martin

Any warnings during import? Tried to import the XMI into Poseidon back?

During import no warning from EA is generated. I also imported the project back to Poseidon successfully.

After import of project to EA there are shown class diagrams completelly, but state diagrams are shown in project view and theirs screens are empty. Nothing is shown from state diagrams, only the names.

I investigated in log file, it seems to be ok excepts little errors for notelink:
Add NoteLink
Error: Unknown Client or Supplier for Notelink

Would be helpful if EA could optionally output a log during XMI import to let us know why it is or isn't doing something in response to a given element.

That would then let us a) apply a patch/transform to the XMI or b) report it to Sparx (or the other vendor!)

Not only with XMI but also during transformation. martinv has to bother Sparx support  :-/
