How do I add sterotypes ?

I want to add two stereotypes to my sequence diagrams. In the diagram property, I can wirte <<Nominal>> or <<Alternate>> in the stereotype field and this is fine. But, I'd like to choose the stereotype in the dropdown list instead. And this list is empty, whatever what I can do.
I've tried the Settings/UML/Stereotype function, but it seems that one cannot add stereotypes to the diagrams stereotypes list with this.
Moreover, the diagram stereotype is not displayed in the project view as it is for element stereotypes.

Can someone help ?

Unlikely There's a thread about diagram stereotypes which has been buried in this board (within the last 6 months). Maybe you can try to search for it :-/

Hi,

it is possible, I don't know how exactly you should do it, but you should create a profile with stereotypes you want and then import the profile to your project.
I don't know the step-by-step-how-to-it, because I am already working with some profile and I can see those stereotypes in the drop down box.

Go to "Settings | UML | Stereotypes", create a stereotype and give it a Base Class of Diagram and the stereotype should be available in the diagram properties. Diagram isn't one of the choices in the Base Class combobox, but you can still type it.

Adding two stereotypes to a diagram isn't possible at the moment unless you type in a comma-separated list.

I'm afraid diagram stereotypes don't currently get displayed in the project view.

Let me be clear over this. I don't want to add two stereotypes at the same time. I just want to see these two sterotypes in the diagram stereotype dropdown list.

I thought I had tried this, but I may have dreamed it. I'll try again and let you know. Is the Base Class field case sensitive ?

It works indeed. I had tried to select <all> in the Base Class field, but that didn't work.

Earlier in the thread it was established that:

• Selecting <all> in the Base Class of the stereotype dialog will not work.  You must instead type in Diagram.
  
• Once you have set up a stereotype with the correct base class, you will be able to select that stereotype for diagrams.
  
• Only one stereotype can be applied to a diagram.
  
• The diagram stereotype does not show up in the tree view.
