Element hierarchie in Project Browser
« on: December 03, 2007, 07:27:57 am »
Hi,
I'm using EA Version 7.0.815 on WinXP with SP2.
In the project browser I have created a package with my project name. Within this project I create for example a state machine diagramm. This diagram has then different state elements like states, choices, initial, final etc.
As I put these elements on the diagram they appear in the project browser under the project package on the same level as the diagram object itself. My question is now what do I need to do to have the corresponding elements to the diagram displayed in the project browser a level under the diagramm. So that I can expand and collapse on the diagram name to see and and hide the elements belonging to that diagram. Also is this useful if I have similar state names for example. When I have the diagram elements displayed all on the same level it's diffîcult to see to which diagram they belong. I look very much forward to an idea or feedback. Cheers Quebonito

Hi,
I usually create a sub-package to hold this sort of detail and then drag n drop the states to that location. You can also hide this move from the diagram by deselecting the 'show namespace' entry in the diagram properties.
There is an added advantage in that I can select whether or not to document these by setting the rtf document property of the sub-package.
