Importing DDL Schema from Oracle misses packages
« on: May 17, 2006, 05:52:25 am »
Hi,
when I try to import a DDL schema from an Oracle database it imports the tables and some stored procedures fine, however stored procedures stored in packages aren't imported at all. Does anyone know a workaround for this? (I am using EA 6.1.789 and Oracle 10g)

Search the forum for information on this. I know there are limitations on imports of Oracle packages. Some members have posted approaches for working around this.

I cannot remember for sure, but there might be some Sparx postings regarding future plans in this area.

Hi,
I did try a search before but I guess I was too specific in my criteria as I didn't get any results:
Anyway the threads I found that were of interest were:

http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=Automation;action=display;num=1146129414

http://www.sparxsystems.com.au/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=general;action=display;num=1132750161

I guess I'll have to look at some way of exporting the Oracle DB package structure and generate an XMI file to import into Enterprise Architect.

thanks

Check the EA User Group and the Wiki first, just in case.
