XMI ordering of attributes of a class
« on: June 27, 2006, 09:39:20 am »
The elements of //Foundation.Core.Classifier.feature/Foundation.Core.Attribute are now alpha sorted it seems, where is prior versions this was not the case.  Is there a way to get them in the same order as they were definied in the XML.

NOTE: I am using the XMI 1.0 export

Sam,

Sounds like you are using an older version of EA. From the main menu try the Tools / Options / Objects page and play with the following checkboxes:
  • Sort Features Alphabetically
  • Group Operations by Stereotype
  • Group Attributes by Stereotype
These are at the bottom of the two columns of check boxes (as of EA 6.1 build 791).

I cannot say for sure if these also affect the default sort order for XMI, and there have been some other areas where changing the diagram sort order did not propagate to other functions. If XMI sort order does not cooperate I think you should report a but to Sparx via Help / On-line Resources / Bug Report Page.

BTW, XMI 1.0 is getting old. Can you not switch to something more recent? If you can, does the same sort behavior occur?

No, you can't have it!
