Error: source and target DBs must be the same type
« on: August 04, 2006, 10:30:43 am »
I am getting an error :  Error: "source and target DBs must be the same type" upon clicking on Foreign keys when creating an association between 2 tables in the Data Model.  It worked yesterday but today between just this one pair of tables, I am getting this error.  Works for other  tables.

My database is set to Oracle.

Please advise re: troubleshooting this issue.

Thanks,

Take a close look at both tables, particularly the one you added to the model most recently. Make absolutely sure that they are both set to the same DBMS. It is possible to change EA's DBMS setting in several ways, then add a table. In such cases the new table won't have the same DB type.

Another possibility is that one or more of the fields used in the relation does not exactly match the data type on the other side. This is particularly easy to do when a foreign key uses multiple fields.
No, you can't have it!
