Background Images
« on: August 25, 2006, 10:15:57 am »
Hi

I was looking at a sample project and saw that it uses an activity diagram that contains a 'boundary'. That boundary has a background image and is used to give a nice appearance to the page when the user examines that diagram.

Question: How and where does one set a background image for a boundary?

Hugh,

Take a look at the Create Custom Diagram Background entry in the EA help file. I know you asked about boundaries, but this is the correct entry.

It gives a step by step procedure for setting the alter image property of the boundary. You can do this yourself, but the help file entry will make it less cryptic.

The page does not seem to be in the help index. Search the help for the word background, and take the first entry found (at least in build 796).

No, you can't have it!

Menu Element/Appearance/Select Alternate Image... (or Shift+Ctrl+W)

Bruce and all others here are just USERS. Only the Fife-Red-Stars guys are from Sparx. We (the users) DO NOT represent Sparx in no way. We just use their product(s). And for good reason.

Just think how you started talking here: I'm going to buy a big number of license so *please* help me. Maybe some people got annoyed by that?

Hugh, I accept what you're saying. Not every user on this board *loves* every other user. So maybe you both should cool down and just not 'talk' to each other.

What you might not know: Bruce (aka sargasso) is on this board since many years and he (like me and many others) is a devoted EA user. Also he *really* has something to tell. He's one of the real gurus and he not only has great all over knowledge of EA but also of anything connected to UML and methodology. The number of his flippant posts in contrast to the ones with big value are very small. Maybe he just had a bad day...

Edit: with respect to Bruce' last post this post becomes obsolete

Perhaps Sargasso should suggest a "voting system" like that used on MSDN product feedback forums, that way he can either vote for or against, that is nice and simple.

We asked for that some 2 years ago. No luck so far :-(
